Plot Synopsis by The New Yorker...
"Beyond Borders is an epic tale of the turbulent romance between two star-crossed lovers set against the backdrop of the world's most dangerous hot spots. Academy Award winner Angelina Jolie stars as Sarah Jordan, an American living in London in 1984. She is married to Henry Bauford (Linus Roache) son of a wealthy British industrialist, when she encounters Nick Callahan (Clive Owen) a renegade doctor, whose impassioned plea for help to support his relief efforts in war-torn Africa moves her deeply. The passionate doctor draws her into the cause of humanitarian aid in the world's most dangerous political hot-spots including Ethiopia, Cambodia, and Chechnya in the 1980s and '90s."
One must see this film...the love story is a bit cheesy, of course...but the concept is so convicting, interesting and heartbreaking....

oh the irony..considering BRANGELINA and their desires to save the world...mainly through adoption
could this movie have been some ironic forshadowing??
(all not funny jokes aside.i'm on my bike tomorrow to go rent it from the library!)
If it ever comes out over here, I will see it. Wait, is it old? Well, in that case I probably won't see it until I return to the States.
